Our story

Between Solutré & Vergisson

An estate rooted in ancient rocks, a passion passed down from generation to generation.

Thierry Drouin has been based in the commune of Vergisson, in the Mâconnais region, since 1981. Nestled in the heart of the magnificent Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson site, the estate is located in an ancient lagoon backed by the Morvan mountains. The rocks originate from fossilized coral reefs that appeared around 150 million years ago. There are three distinct types of soil: limestone scree, limestone, and clay. Each soil type gives the wines very distinct characteristics, always expressing a subtle balance between fruit maturity and mineral tension.

After 41 vintages to his credit, he retired. His son Charles-Édouard joined forces with the Collovray & Terrier family in 2021, a renowned family of winegrowers from the neighboring village, to continue producing a high-quality range of the most famous appellations of the Mâconnais region, intended for professionals.
